What is OpenChords?
OpenChords is a lightweight sync protocol that lets musicians share folders, setlists and songs between apps without locking anyone into a single ecosystem. A folder or setlist is pushed to the OpenChords server as plain ChordPro data; anyone with the link can import it, and future edits can be pushed and pulled by everyone collaborating on it — no accounts, no app store, just a link.
It's currently supported by JustChords (iPhone, iPad & Mac) and OpenSongApp (Android), so a band can mix devices and platforms and still stay on the same setlist.
How it works
🔗 Share a link
Sharing a folder or setlist generates a unique link you can send over email, chat, or a QR code — no sign-up required on either end.
⬇️ Import anywhere
Anyone opening the link can import it straight into JustChords or OpenSongApp, converted automatically to each app's own format.
🔄 Push & pull
The server tracks versions, so collaborators are prompted to pull new changes, or push their own edits back up, without overwriting each other.
🔒 View-only or editable
The owner can keep a share editable by anyone with the link, or lock it to view/import only.

Got a shared link?
If someone sent you an OpenChords link, open it on your phone or tablet — it will offer to open directly in JustChords or OpenSongApp, whichever you have installed. Don't have either app yet?
